Whenever the Jameson Hangout hour clocks in, the young, hip, and vibrant regulars of the show get excited, and rightly so, the 1st edition of this year’s Jameson Hangout encounter did not treat them any different.
The event returned to the Ndere Centre, in Ntinda, on April 26, offering an unparalleled experience, creating a vibrant atmosphere where guests could bond and connect.
The set-up and aesthetics, as usual, was one to die for. From the cushioned wooden pallets, to the green colors that lit up the venue, one would feel as though their money’s worth was achieved, just by glancing at the curation of the venue.
Organised by Talent Africa Group, NRG Radio, Jameson, Pernod Ricard and Safe Boda, the event featured an exciting array of interactive games, trend-setting pop-up shops, captivating musical performances, and mouth-watering barbecue delicacies.
For those interested in painting, regardless of whether or not you actually knew how it paint, part of the activities was meant to help you try out your skills. Other guests enjoyed complimentary services such as free haircuts, Jameson cocktails, and discounted tattoos, all paired with the finest Irish whiskey, Jameson.
Away from the day’s fun-filled activities, DJ Tony hit the stage with his turntables to turn the crowd up with mixes from Afrobeats, piano, and more. The vibe, coupled with smooth cocktails, was quite the experience everyone wanted. Tony was joined by other DJs including Lynda Ddane, Bugy, City Girl, and MCs Adele Kiele and Josh
Later on, Prof Joewi and the Black Wave Sounds took over the stage to take the crowd into a different direction of fun and enjoyments. The band was joined by sensational soulful and Afrobeat rising star – Mike Mungu, who performed some of his most exciting songs for the crowd.
The highlight of the night was Kenneth Mugabi, who illuminated the stage clad in an all-white suit. Mugabi stepped on stage with his signature tube fiddle instrument, kicking off with some of his hit songs including “Nkwegomba,” “Kibun’omu,” “Naki,” and “Sanyu.”
The night was taken away by Nigerian DJs Shawn and Yanny, who set the crowd home in such remarkable style. In the end, the long wait for the return of Jameson Hangout was quite worth it.
