Day two of the Ekyooto Ha Mpango festival saw the King of Tooro Kingdom – His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, lead a team of guests, media and tourism enthusiasts from within and outside Uganda, to a birdwatching escapade in Kibaale forest.
The exciting trek was also joined by Princess Elizabeth Bagaya, Tooro Queen mother – Best Kemigisa, and Tourism State Minister – Martin Mugara, something that pumped the guts of the rest to trek on.
With guidance from Uganda Wildlife Authority tour guides, tourists were taken through the various bird species found in the forest, some of which are almost impossible to be found anywhere else in the world.
As the wind continued to whirl through the trees and thick leaves, the birds sounding more melodic than a choir, the trek would only get more interesting and less draining.
The royal tour, according to the Ministry of Tourism – Tooro Kingdom, was purposed to promote the beauty of Tooro.
After close to an hour, King Oyo took a group photo with all the trekkers, after which he treated them to a luncheon at Chimpundu Lodge.
Away from birdwatching, more tourism activities took place at Kibale National Park, where celebrities Jackie Chandiru and Lilian Mbabazi and other tourists went Chimpanzee trekking.
