The Speaker of Kampala Capital City Authority, Zahara Luyirika, has urged Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to present the Kiteezi Tragedy report to the council instead of lamenting.
Lukwago and the City Executive Committee were expected to submit the Kiteezi tragedy report to the council, but this did not happen, with Lukwago reportedly locked in meetings with the City executive. However, the council has resolved to set up a 10-member team to look into the matter and report back by Tuesday next week.
According to KCCA Speaker Zahara Luyirika has urged the council a site visit to Kieezi to check out the issue about some properties.
The Speaker also tasked Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to stop playing games with the council over the report.
However, Kampala Lord Mayor Lukwago says that there is a lot to be done with the report and that the report has not yet benefited from the meetings with parliament and other stakeholders in the matter.
Lukwago also added saying that KCCA would spend about 4.5B to compensate those affected by the landslide disaster and the money was released from tax revenue.
