Two confirmed dead and eight others seriously injured in a collision at Lubaga road across from the Luqman Petrol station in the city centre
According to Michael Kananura, the traffic police spokesperson, the collision happened at approximately 6:30 am when a Toyota Hiace that was rushing down the side of Sanyu Babies Home on Butikirl Road failed to brake as it descended a slope.
According to the preliminary traffic report, two persons, including the driver, were killed instantaneously when the car lost control and crashed into a building next to the road.
The car was hauled to the Old Kampala Police Station for examination, and the unidentified bodies were also taken to the city mortuary in Mulago for postmortem reports.
In order to stop the ongoing catastrophes, police have subsequently advised drivers to rigorously follow speed restrictions, especially in cities, and to maintain their vehicles.
According to recent traffic police figures, the number of individuals knocked on Ugandan roads has grown from 12 to 13 each day.
