“I Have No Time To Sacrifice Myself To Any Politician’s Agenda” Agenda

One of Uganda’s outspoken musicians, Alexander Bagonza alias A Pass, has never shied away from expressing his political stance and views.

However, unlike many others, he has managed to stay clear of politically inspired trouble.

His approach to politics reflects a balance between conviction and caution.

During a recent media interview, A Pass said that having a clear political position is very important.

He mentioned that everyone should stand for something, as neutrality often raises questions about one’s values.

However, he noted that he does not blindly follow a political party. Instead, he aligns himself with a leader who advocates for meaningful causes.

A Pass said it is about understanding a leader’s stance and supporting their mission if it resonates with his principles.

The singer mentioned that he is careful not to sacrifice himself for any politician’s agenda.

He referred to the actions of some political actors as “politricks,” designed to trick rather than serve the people.

This cautious approach, he said, has allowed him to stay true to his beliefs without getting entangled in unnecessary conflict.

A Pass also stressed the importance of mutual respect in political debates and conversations.

He said he avoids insulting those who hold different views, instead advocating for calm, respectful, and constructive conversations.

For him, he mentioned, there is no need for hatred or hostility, as political differences should not divide people.

A Pass gave Bobi Wine as an example, saying that if he were supporting him, he would still have the boldness to disagree with him and speak out against his mistakes when necessary.

He noted that no one is perfect, nor is anyone beyond criticism, and that blind loyalty only leads to groupthink.

The musician concluded by sharing his views on democracy, pointing out its flaws.

He noted that while democracy prioritizes the majority’s voice, it can sometimes lead to poor decisions if the majority backs the wrong cause.
