Zari Hassan, popularly known as Zari the Boss Lady, has credited her late ex-husband, Ivan Semwanga, for playing a crucial role in shaping her success.
In an interview, the Ugandan socialite, businesswoman, and actress revealed that their shared ambition and teamwork were key to building their empire, which includes a college in South Africa and other businesses.
According to Zari, Ivan was the financial mastermind, providing capital, while she contributed ideas and vision.
She emphasized that without her ideas, his wealth would not have been as impactful, and without his financial support, her ideas might not have materialized.
Their partnership was driven by a mutual desire for success, with Zari aspiring to a prosperous life and Ivan eyeing a flamboyant lifestyle.
She described him as a tremendous support system, noting that their determination to achieve the best in life pushed them to work even harder.
Zari and Ivan were together from the early 2000s until their relationship ended in 2013.
Despite their separation, she stood by his side during his final moments.
In 2017, Ivan Ssemwanga suffered a heart attack and was admitted to Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria, where Zari took care of him.
He passed away on the morning of Thursday, May 25, 2017.
