Uganda Police Gets New Spokesperson

The Inspector General of Police, Abbasi Byakagaba, announced a reshuffle in the Police leadership shortly after his appointment to replace the retired Martins Okoth Ochola. It is confirmed that ACP Rusoke Kituuma has been appointed as the new Police spokesman, replacing SCP Fred Enanga, who is now the Deputy Director for Interpol.

Fred Enanga is a Ugandan senior police commander, public servant, and economist by profession. He has served as the Senior Commissioner of the Ugandan Police Force and the Police Spokesperson for nearly seven years. Born on June 23rd, Enanga grew up in Kampala with his parents and nine siblings, five of whom are still living. His ancestral home is in Apac District, Ayago village, Akokoro sub-county, Northern Uganda. A Luo by ethnicity, Enanga was known for being playful and stubborn during his childhood. He attained a second grade and instead pursued an arts combination, eventually becoming an economist.

Enanga has been replaced by ACP Rusoke Kituuma, who previously served as the Regional Police Commander of the Rwizi policing region. ACP Clare Nabakka, who has been deputizing Enanga, will continue in her role.

Additionally, CP James Ruhweza has been appointed deputy to the new Director of Operations Services (OPS), SCP Frank Mwesigwa.
