Ahead of their forthcoming concert, the iconic girl group Blu*3, consisting of Lilian Mbabazi, Cindy Sanyu, and Jackie Chandiru, has entered the studio to record new music for their devoted fans.
The legendary trio is determined to solidify their reunion with fresh sounds, fulfilling the long-awaited desires of their fanbase. Blu3 is also in the final stages of preparation for the Legends of Sound Blu3 reunion concert scheduled for June 22, 2024, at Kampala Sheraton Gardens.
Rising to prominence in the early 2000s, Blu*3 became known for their sold-out concerts and numerous awards, earning them the title of the Most Influential Girl Group in Africa. Despite disbanding in 2008 to pursue solo projects, their chart-topping hits like “Hitaji,” “Burrn,” “Sanyu Lyange,” and “Kankyakyankye” left an indelible mark on the Ugandan music scene, solidifying their status as the most influential and successful African girl group of all time.
Cindy Sanyu expressed the group’s commitment to preserving their signature Blu3 sound, stating, “We need to bring our old shade of Blu3, not leave it… don’t dump Blu3. Get that and merge it. Recently, we got into the studio with Artin, and we understood the sound we were fighting for. We don’t want Blu3 to be dumped in this new music. We have brought our shades of Blu*3 and it merged to bring that sound to life.”
Lilian Mbabazi echoed Cindy’s sentiments, emphasizing the collaborative effort within the team. “We are working together as a team. We show up. This journey is something I am excited about. It is going to be fabulous.”
