Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and a popular musician, was unable to see his long-time peer, Jose Chameleone, at Nakasero Hospital on Friday.
Chameleone, who has been hospitalized due to a serious illness, is reportedly under close medical care and was sedated at the time of Bobi Wine’s visit, preventing any interaction with him.
Bobi Wine shared an update on social media, expressing his concern for the music icon.
He wrote, “I passed by Nakasero Hospital this morning to check on our brother Jose Chameleone after hearing that he is critically ill. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see him as his medical team informed us that he was sedated and unable to receive visitors. We continue to pray for him and wish him a full and speedy recovery.”
Despite occasional public tensions and friendly rivalry between the two, which often stem from their careers in music and politics, this gesture highlights the bond they share as influential figures in Uganda’s music scene.
Chameleone, a celebrated figure in East African music, was rushed to the hospital after falling seriously ill. His family and friends have gathered to support him, ensuring he receives the best care possible.
Fans and well-wishers continue to send prayers and messages of support for the beloved musician, hoping for his swift recovery.
