Eddy Kenzo, A Pass To Grace Blankets & Wine Stage 2024 Edition

Blankets & Wine, an iconic International music festival that celebrates African sounds, culture, and community, has officially announced the performers of the Kampala, Uganda 2024 season edition slated to take place on Sunday June 30th, 2024 at Lugogo Grounds.

Known for its unmatched roster of talent, and being a premier platform for showcasing the best of African music, this year’s event will feature musical giants from across the continent, including South Africa’s Samthing Soweto, Kenya’s Nameless, and Ugandan stars like Eddy Kenzo.

The Live Stage Line Up:

Nameless – The Kenyan pop artist rose to fame in 1999 through a star-search contest on Kenya’s urban music station Capital FM, which he won with his original song “Megarider.” Nameless is one of the most celebrated musical stars from East Africa, renowned for his dynamic performances and hit songs.

Samthing Soweto – Known professionally as Samthing Soweto, this South African singer and songwriter gained widespread recognition for his vocals on Sun-El Musician’s song “Akanamali” and his Spotify chart-topping single “Akulaleki.” Following his departure from the group The Soil, Samthing Soweto released his debut album, This N That Without Tempo (2010), which blends a cappella and soul. His second album, Isphithiphithi (2019), marked a shift towards Afro pop and R&B, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa.

Supporting Acts:

Eddy Kenzo – The Grammy-nominated Ugandan singer, music executive, and president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, Eddy Kenzo is also the founder and member of Big Talent Entertainment. He broke through with his hit “Stamina” and gained international acclaim with “Sitya Loss” in 2014, which featured a viral video with the Ghetto Kids. Kenzo has released four albums, including Roots (2018) and Made in Africa (2021), and has won numerous awards, including a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award (2018) and a BET Award (2015).

Rachel Magoola – A founding member of the legendary Afrigo Band, Rachel Magoola is a celebrated Ugandan singer, songwriter, and performer. This will be her debut performance at Blankets and Wine, making it one of the festival’s most anticipated acts.

A Pass – Known for his unique sound and lyrical prowess, Apass has established himself as a musical genius on the Ugandan scene. He has collaborated with numerous artists and producers to create hits like “Nva Kampala,” “Wuuyo,” and “Didadada.”

Emerging Talents:

The June edition will also showcase emerging talents, including Ebrahim Soul’o, Julius Ssese, and Sandrah K Busoga Princess, promising a diverse and vibrant musical experience.
