Jackie Chandiru, a member of the legendary Blu3 group alongside Cindy Sanyu and Lillian Mbabazi, reflected on their significant impact on Uganda’s music scene.
She emphasized that their names will always be remembered as some of the first Ugandan artists to create meaningful music.
Reflecting on their journey, Jackie highlighted that music is a passion deeply ingrained in them. She made it clear that it is impossible to simply retire from something that is such a big part of who they are.
Citing the fact that many artistes who have been in the industry longer than Blu3 are still performing, Jackie pointed out that music is a lifelong journey.
On a more personal note, Jackie addressed her past struggles with drugs, emphasizing that she overcame them and does not rely on anything to enhance her performance.
She stressed that she would never want to depend on substances to perform on stage. Her priority is to satisfy her audience and entertain her fans to the best of her ability.
Jackie expressed confidence in her natural talent, saying she performs without any enhancements.
When asked about the rising stars in the industry, Jackie admitted she does not see any exceptionally outstanding artistes, though she acknowledged that they are good.
