In a recent announcement, the management of Miss Tourism Uganda unveiled a shakeup in their regional leadership as part of this year’s event.
The press release confirmed that Gloria Alele will take over as the cluster head for Northern Uganda, replacing Mrs. Kotina Akot. Additionally, Zakia Lucky has been appointed as the new cluster head for Kigezi, succeeding Mrs. Atwongyeire.
The new cluster heads will be responsible for managing regional Miss Tourism events and preparing contestants for the national pageant. The upcoming regional crowning events are scheduled for June 29th at Lira Hotel in Northern Uganda and July 26th in the Rwenzori region.
Regional winners will compete in the national Miss Tourism Uganda pageant on September 13th at Kampala Serena Hotel, with the national winner representing Uganda at Miss Tourism International.
The current Miss Tourism Uganda, Nabukonde Kiyayi Ruokaya, who was crowned last September at Kampala Serena Hotel, will pass on her crown to the new titleholder at this year’s grand finale.
