Appearing on Sanyuka TV, singer Omega 256, whose real name is Murerwa Shamim, addressed rumours and speculation about her career and actions.
When asked about claims that she has a bad heart and does not wish well for other artists, particularly those from Mbarara, Omega explained that she feels no need to explain herself.
She emphasized that those who know her and have been helped by her will speak for themselves.
She also pointed out that if someone does not like her, there is nothing she can do to change their perception. People will always find reasons to criticize, no matter their actions.
Regarding the controversy over organizing an event on the same day as fellow Western artiste Ray G, Omega clarified that the event was not hers.
She explained that she was only booked for the show and had no control over the scheduling of her performances.
As a professional, she said that when her management, Diagram Evolution, secures a booking, she cannot turn it down, especially when it aligns with her schedule and offers compensation.
She also stressed that the event’s posters did not feature “Omega 256 Live In Concert,” making it clear it was not a show she was personally holding.
On the topic of social media ridicule, Omega said she is unaffected by the insults. While people can be very creative with their criticism, she explained that nothing said online bothers her.
Finally, when asked about being called an “old woman,” Omega confidently responded that she still considers herself young.
She views the insult as something common that no longer has any impact.
Omega reflected that growing old is a privilege and that age represents wisdom, something not everyone gets the chance to experience.
