Singer and dancer Phina Mugerwa has urged Eddie Kenzo, the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation and senior advisor to the president on creatives, to advocate for all creatives in the country.
In an interview with Sanyuka TV’s Uncut, Phina said Kenzo should listen to all voices in the creative sector, not just those connected to the federation.
She believes that by being open to different ideas and experiences, Kenzo can better represent the whole sector when advising the president.
Phina also stressed the importance of making sure everyone in the creative community feels heard and respected.
Additionally, she urged the government to invest in the creative industry as a whole instead of just focusing on individual personalities.
She believes that support should go to people at all levels, especially those starting their careers, to help everyone grow and find new opportunities in the creative sector.
