Powered by Talent Africa Group and Stanbic Bank, the long-awaited concert is slated for June 22, 2024, at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
Last night, the Bu 3 ladies addressed the press about the upcoming concert, – their first since the group broke up over 15 years ago– and expressed readiness.
Despite being part for a long time, the ladies said they felt prepared to put up a quality show unlike any that has been seen in the country.
“We are more than ready,” said Cindy Sanyu.
“You all know that I can never get into something I am not able to handle. From our first rehearsal when I sang and heard our harmonies, I just knew we are going to kill it.”
“In this country, we have not had a concert that is so full of talent like this,” she added.
The girl group during the press conference, were asked about their plans after the big show.
Jackie Chandiru confirmed that the trio will carry on releasing new music, which she hopes will give a sense of direction to the younger breed of musicians.
“Today’s music is okay the way it is…., but I believe we can help polish it a little bit by giving the (young musicians) a manual,” she said.
On her part, Lillian Mbabazi said the three ladies feel better off than they were when they broke up.
“We have gone through different stages in our lives leading to this moment; I feel like we have grown, our voices have matured, and even musically we have improved, we are not the little girls that we were,” she said.
Speaking at the press conference, Dianah Kahunde, Brand and Marketing Manager of Stanbic Bank expressed commitment to celebrating Ugandan talent and culture.
“As a bank committed to driving Uganda’s growth. We know that the arts industry as a sector is giving employment to a good number of people and therefore, our coming on board is not just to enable people to enjoy the sweet love ballads by the singing trio, but also to empower them,” she said.
Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group stated the concert would be a celebration of the incredible music and enduring legacy of BLU 3.
“It’s a testament to their talent and the impact they’ve had on the music industry in Uganda and beyond. We are thrilled and honoured to serve as the official promoters and event organisers of the Blu 3 Reunion Concert, bringing together our passion for music with the excitement of this iconic reunion.”
